How to add the Account Protection web extension

NOTE: You're eligible to use Account and Payment Protection if you have a paid McAfee subscription on Dell computers.

Account and Payment Protection is available as a web browser extension.

Account Protection supports the latest version of these browsers on your Windows PC:

• Google Chrome
• Microsoft Edge
• Firefox

Eligible customers receive:

• An email with details about Account Protection, and steps to get started.
• An Account Protection notification banner that appears in your McAfee app.
• An Account Protection pop-up message that appears on your Windows desktop. It also appears or when you are logged into your McAfee Account on myaccount.mcafee.com. Here is an example:
  
  

To add the Account Protection extension when you see the above message, follow the steps below. 

Chrome-

When you see the "Protect your account from hackers" message:

1. Click Protect my accounts.
2. Click Add to Chrome.
3. Click Add extension.
4. Click the McAfee extension icon on the top right.
5. Sign in to your McAfee account.

Edge-

When you see the "Protect your account from hackers" message:

1. Click Protect my accounts.
2. Click Get extension.
3. Click Add extension.
4. Click the McAfee extension icon on the top right.
5. Sign in to your McAfee account.

Firefox-

When you see the "Protect your account from hackers" message:

1. Click Protect my accounts.
2. Click Install.
3. Click Add. 
   A message that McAfee Account Protection was added appears on the right.
4. Select the Allow this extension to run in Private Windows checkbox.
5. Click Okay.
