You might have what looks to be a calendar 'virus' on your iOS device. With this issue, many virus-related calendar entries appear daily on your iPhone or iPad calendar.
These calendar entries might look similar to the ones shown here:
Your device is not infected
Calendar entries make your iOS device appear to be infected. But a virus did not add them to your calendar, and your device is not infected.
The 'virus' items are being pushed to your iOS device via a subscribed calendar.
You might have signed up for this calendar after you went to a website, and accidentally clicked a pop-up like this one.
Remove a calendar subscription from your iOS device
To remove the 'virus' entries from your iOS device and stop new ones from appearing, delete the subscribed calendar. To learn how, watch this video, or view the removal steps below:
To view and subscribe to more videos, visit the official McAfee YouTube channel.
To remove:
- On your iOS device, tap Settings.
- Tap the search field, and search for calendar.
- Tap the Calendar app.
- Tap Calendar accounts.
- Tap Subscribed Calendars. Look for a subscribed calendar that is unfamiliar to you. If you see one, this is likely the account that is adding the 'virus' entries to your calendar.
- Tap the unfamiliar subscribed calendar.
- Tap Delete Account.
NOTE: Make sure that you do not delete a genuine subscribed calendar on which you rely.
- Tap Delete Account again to confirm that you want to remove the calendar.
